Purpose in Motion: How Leah Grew With Mile High 360
Leah Rosales-Griego has been a participant since sixth grade and she’s following in the footsteps of her aunt and uncle, both first-generation postsecondary graduates whose journeys were shaped by this very program. Leah is now a Freshman at Arrupe Jesuit High School. She, in her own words, “embodies the transformative impact of Mile High 360.
For Leah, Mile High 360 isn’t just something she attends — it’s a place she proudly calls her second home. Over the past four years, she has fully immersed herself in its offerings: exploring nutrition through hands-on cooking classes, receiving support from mental health counselors, and participating in enriching trips to places like Estes Park and Glenwood Springs.
With Mile High 360, she also took on a major challenge in 2025: completing the Steamboat Gravel Red Course — a demanding 54-mile cycling event through mountain terrain. She conquered it and plans to return in 2026 with the goal of cutting an hour off her time. Training started in September, and by June, she will be ready to shred the Red Course.

Last summer, Leah spent several weeks at an overnight camp in Minnesota, where she ventured on a 12-day canoe trip in the Canadian wilderness. Navigating rapids, sleeping under the stars, and bonding with new peers, she stepped far outside her comfort zone — building confidence, leadership, and a sense of adventure that will stay with her for life.
Her journey — from a curious sixth grader to a confident, goal-driven freshman — is a powerful example of what’s possible when young people are supported, challenged, and believed in. For Leah, Mile High 360 hasn’t just opened doors — it’s helped her walk through them with purpose.
